In September, I had to part company with TBG. It was a very disappointing that this happened, but I threw myself into the job hunt. I got in touch with several recruitment agencies that had contacted me through LinkedIn or from my previous job hunt, and there was a good number of opportunities around London in search.
The most interesting, was a direct contact through LinkedIn for the second time this year, which was made the same week I left TBG. It was from the Omnicom group, and their internal recruitment team. They discussed three roles with me, and I was put forward for two. Interviewed with both, and got a much better vibe from the later.
There was another company that I'd interviewed that I liked as well, and went for second interviews with both. This second company were much smaller, but interesting role. Downside was the location was very odd, they shared a building with a private club in Soho. Also their scale was much smaller.
My second interview went really well with OMD as did the second with this other company, both were interested and whilst the later company wanted to know what I was offered to beat it, I knew OMD was the right choice and accepted their offer.
So I started with OMD on September 19th as a Senior Search Planner.
I've been here almost two months now, and things are going really well. I am very happy with the choice I made coming here, and I'm learning an awful lot. This is what I expected agency life to be like, surrounded by experienced people in a challenging environment needing to learn and improve to get the job done. This is why I left Auto Europe, was to improve myself as a search specialist, and this is a great place to work.
