TBG sent through a brochure I suppose is the only word to describe it, that contained some forms I need to sign & bring in on my first day. But what interests me, and what I'll share here is the document on "You're Better Off Working at TBG".
It is split into Immediate Benefits, After Probationary Period, After Year 1, Year 2 & Year 5.
Immediate Benefits
Birthday lie-in, Early Finish Fridays, Provisions, Christmas/Summer Parties, Christmas Shutdown, Payroll Giving, Monthly Massage, "We Love You" Vouchers, Team Lunches, Monthly Appraisal, Training, IPA Training, Eye Sight Tests, Vitamins & something about a Gin Run.
The provisions, they buy in cereals, fresh bread, juice, coffee etc, if they don't have it ask for it.
Payroll giving, is nominating a charity, it comes out of your wages, so is tax deductible (lower gross pay) & they match donation pound for pound.
90 minute later start on your birthday, carried to the Monday if it fell on a weekend, brilliant, I've taken my birthday off work every year in the UK, so this is a nice alternative option.
Yes, I did write, monthly massage, its a 15 minute, de-stressing massage each month.
The office shuts down for 2 weeks over Christmas, with me having to use 3 days annual leave for this. This is brilliant, no hassle about getting the period off, and effectively adds 5 days to the annual holiday allowance.
There is also Monthly Appraisal geared around goals, and with training available I believe I can learn & focus my development excellently.
Benefits After Probationary Period.
Season Travel Ticket Loan (very useful in London), Staff Surveys (sure its a benefit) & Personal Development Plans.
The last one really interests me, especially in conjunction with appraisals & on site & off site training to improve my skill set notably.
Benefits After Year 1.
Anniversary Days (ongoing benefit, extra holiday), Non-Media Training.
That last one really sounds like fun, assist you in learning something new, like photography, foreign language, all subjects considered, submit through Line Manager.
Benefits After Year 2.
Holiday Allowance (+1 extra day on top of anniversary day), Once in a Lifetime & Healthcare.
Inclusion in the company healthcare scheme, will ask does this extend to partners & family.
Whilst the Once in a Lifetime, the example given is flying with a RAF trained pilot or swimming with Dolphins. These are awarded annually!
Benefits After Year 5.
TBG Party, a party to celebrate 5 years with the company.
All in all sounds like a great package, on the basic level, they seem keen on having a happy workforce and well trained one, this is key for me. I want both, especially the latter, I want to improve.
