About Me
|
|
Brian O'Farrell is 26 year old Irishman living in London. Born in Dublin, I grew up in Sandyford as the third child of four.
I went to school in Kilmucd before going to University College Dublin for a Science Degree. After college, I worked in a telesupport job before Auto Europe, whom I started working for in August 2005. In 2006, I joined their marketing department and late in 2006 they chose to relocate their UK operations from Dublin to London and I was offered an opportunity to relocate with them. I moved to London on October 12th 2006, lived in Ealing Broadway originally, then South Ealing and now I'm living in West Kensington. I continued to work for Auto Europe in their online marketing department, managing AEUK's paid search campaigns with additional responsibility for meta search sites. As well as managing our position in an incredibly competitive market and driving increased volume during the downturn. I have worked diligently on optimization efforts to bring the UK search campaigns as close as sensible to SEM Best Practice thinking. This is a lengthy process but it is reaping rewards for the company.

Interests

|
I am an avid sports fan. I have such an interest in sport, that I have a special sport twitter account.
Following a wide range of sports, not all would be expected as an Irishman. Cricket being the obvious one there. Rugby would be the main sport of interest for myself, being from Dublin, I naturally support Leinster & Ireland. Before moving to London I was a season ticket holder at Leinster. In the English league, it has to be London Irish. With the round ball action, I'd be a Dublin fan of course in Gaelic Football. You don't get a choice in that sport, and nor would I want to pick another county. In soccer, I've followed Arsenal almost my entire life, and continue to carry this burden today. I've made it along to the Emirates a few times since moving to London. Outside of European sports, I follow American Football very closely. I was at the 2008 Wembley game between Saints & Chargers. I am mainly a Chicago Bears fan due to having family from there. I've also got a soft spot for the Saints, so it was great to see them live. I am also a huge cycling fan, following the Tour de France closely every year, it was a pleasure to actually see it in the flesh in 2007 when Le Grand Depart was London.
| I played chess in school, and was part of 1998 U16 All Ireland Schools winning team. I still played Chess on GameKnot as Garner. I organised the Irish Nationals for Diplomacy between 2004 & 2006. Winning the event in 2005, becoming Irish National Diplomacy Champion. I am looking to organise some

through this site. | I regularly play boardgames and own a reasonable collection of games over 50 in number. Mostly "Eurogames", which have in common a greater reliance on play, strategy than chance. This is in stark contrast to"traditional family" games, which I mostly distaste, especially Monopoly, which takes far too long for a game heavily reliant on a random device. Some of my games are listed online at Boardgamegeek.com | |
